Located on a compact infill site, this home carefully balances privacy, sunlight, and connection.

Alex Infill

The design seeks to create a calm and generous home within a compact urban setting. Framed views, carefully positioned openings, and an abundance of natural light help draw the landscape deep into the interior, enhancing the sense of space throughout. A restrained material palette and thoughtful planning allow the home to feel both grounded and quietly expansive.

The building's form was largely shaped by the site's constraints, including sunlight recession planes and the structural realities of supporting the upper level. Through careful coordination of load-bearing elements and beam placement, the plan opens up to reveal a generous living area at ground floor level, creating a sense of openness that belies the compact footprint.

The result is a considered infill home that responds directly to its context while providing a comfortable and enduring place to live.
