Located on a steep and challenging site

Bridge Hill House

The design responds to a number of complex site constraints. The building's form has been largely shaped by the realities of the site, including sunlight recession planes, the structural requirements of supporting a dwelling on steep terrain, neighbouring properties overlooking from the north, and the need to work within a defined budget.

Through careful planning and considered structural design, the 160m² home is arranged to maximise both space and amenity. The layout reveals a generous open-plan living area and a strong connection to the landscape, creating a sense of openness that belies its relatively compact footprint. The result is a thoughtful infill home that responds directly to its context while providing a comfortable and highly liveable environment. Framed views engage with the surrounding landscape, while carefully positioned openings and outdoor spaces maintain privacy and address the challenges of overlooking, achieving a balance between openness and retreat.
