Churchyard House, Alexandra, Central OtagoCrafted with care and designed to make an impact. This one tells a story of creativity, collaboration, and results.
Set on a compact site between Clyde and Alexandra in Central Otago, this home makes the most of every square metre through a series of thoughtful design responses. Once the landscaping is complete, it will offer a sheltered western courtyard designed for long summer evenings, alongside a separate morning courtyard that captures the first sun of the day. Framed by stone walls, these outdoor spaces create a strong sense of enclosure and connection to the landscape.
Inside, a window seat in the living area conceals a drop-down television, allowing the fireplace and artwork above to remain the focus when not in use. Large north-facing windows are carefully shaded to temper Central Otago's intense summer sun while still welcoming winter warmth.
To the south, operable timber screens provide privacy from neighbouring properties and can be opened like doors for easy cleaning and maintenance.
We look forward to sharing more photographs once the landscaping is complete and the home is fully settled into its surroundings.
